Word order helps you follow and build a German sentence. In a simple statement, the conjugated verb is in the second position: Heute gehe ich ins Kino. Some verbs have a second part at the end: Ich rufe dich an. Rebuilding short sentences gives you practice with those patterns, as well as questions and longer structures.
The more you play this game, the better you will be able to recognize familiar sentence patterns in messages and use them when you talk about your plans or daily activities. After a round, say one completed sentence aloud, then change a word to make it about you.

A decoy: a believable near-miss like a wrong verb form or the wrong preposition. Leaving it in the word bank is a small grammar decision, which is why the later rounds sharpen your judgement and not just your memory.
